Mission: This committee is responsible for the worship life of the church and to oversee the church’s growth and outreach  programs.

Scope of Authority: Guided by Book of Order, Charter of Session. and the responsibilities of pastor. Financial resources set by Session and managed by Commitment Committee. The Music Director is a standing member of the committee with full voting rights.

Duties:

Supports, advises, and assists the pastor in planning and carrying out worship services

Schedules services and communion.

Prepares communion

Engages supply ministers and guest speakers for worship

Schedules music programs and special music associated with worship.

Supervises Music Director in conjunction with Personnel Committee .

Schedules and publicizes special offerings.

Sets format for and schedules ushering.

Plans and conducts Laity Sunday.

Involves lay people in worship

Establishes and reviews policies for weddings and funerals with Buildings & Grounds Committee

Manages worship aids (flowers, paraments, etc.)

Makes budget recommendations to Commitment Committee and monitors the expenses for its areas of responsibility

Organizes and oversees greeting
