Mission: This committee seeks candidates for nomination to the elected offices of the Church and maintains a file of congregational talents and skills and oversees the church’s growth and outreach programs.

Scope of Authority: Guided by the Book of Order and the charter of the Session. An active Elder must chair this committee. Only nominates slate of candidates to Session. Session presents nominations to congregation and calls for a congregational meeting to elect the nominated slate of candidates.

Duties:

Nominates candidates for office for elder, deacon, trustee, treasurer

Explains duties and responsibilities to candidates

Identifies and recommends training of officers and committee members

Requests congregation meetings for elections

Recommends ad hoc committee membership as required by Session

Publishes and maintains rolls of active candidates for officer and committee membership
