Mission: This committee oversees the real property of the church and oversees the church’s growth and outreach
programs.
Scope of Authority: Guided by the Book of Order and the charter of the Session. Financial resources set by the Session and
managed by the Commitment Committee.
Duties:
Maintenance and oversight of all church property
Develops policies and procedures for maintenance and use of these
facilities
Administers and reviews established policies
Supervises cleaning service
Maintains an inventory of equipment and furniture owned by church
Handles replacement and repair of equipment within the established
budget
Handles routine and emergency repairs within the established budget
Establishes a long range, preventative maintenance plan for properties
including a recommended budget for the Commitment Committee
Procures any bids for work to be done by outside vendors or projects
outside the scope of the existing budget
Makes budget recommendations to the Commitment Committee concerning
its areas of responsibility and monitors expenses of areas
Supervises opening and closing of church for worship on Sundays
and provides procedures to appropriate parties for other church-use activities
Conducts annual review of charter
